MFG Day Shines Spotlight on Local Manufacturers, Highlights Career Opportunities

(RICHMOND, TEXAS) November 5, 2021 – The Central Fort Bend Chamber’s Workforce Division hosted their 2nd annual Manufacturing Day presented by Gurecky Manufacturing Services on Friday, November 5, for more than 353 students from Lamar Consolidated ISD. Manufacturing Day provides an opportunity to highlight modern manufacturing, industrial and construction industries — that offer diverse, high-paying career opportunities. The event showcased tours of Wharton County Junior College’s programs in EMS, Cosmetology, Outdoor/Backroom Skids, PTAC Classroom Simulation and Computer Science Demonstrations; industry exhibits and a speaker panel.


“Today’s event was a huge success. It was great to see the students interact with our local industries,” said Kristin Weiss, IOM, President & CEO of the Central Fort Bend Chamber. “Our intent with Manufacturing Day is to provide an opportunity to introduce students to future career paths through local higher education and industries in our area.”
