CENTRAL FORT BEND CHAMBER AND THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON SUGAR LAND ARE SET TO HOST TWO WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT EVENTS FOR LAMAR CONSOLIDATED ISD STUDENTS AND LOCAL HEALTH & WELLNESS & TECHNOLOGY BUSINESSES

Technology Day and Health & Wellness Day Shines a Spotlight on Local Technology and Health & Wellness Businesses, Highlights Career Opportunities

(ROSENBERG, TEXAS) FEBRUARY 2, 2023 – The Central Fort Bend Chamber’s Workforce Development Division is set to host two new events – Technology Day on Thursday, March 2 at the University of Houston Sugar Land College of Technology and Health & Wellness Day on Friday, March 3 at the University of Houston Sugar Land College of Nursing. Approximately 700 students from Lamar Consolidated ISD will be participating.

Technology Day is an event showcasing businesses in the Technology Industry to local high students in the CTE Technology pathways in an effort to build our future workforce. Areas of focus for Technology Day include, but are not limited to: Design & Multimedia, Digital Communications, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Programming & Software Development. The day will include a tour of UH College of Technology, industry exhibits and a speaker panel. Exhibitors to date include: Tanches Global Management, HCSS and Houston Community College

Health & Wellness Day is an event showcasing our health and/or wellness businesses to local high students in the CTE Health Science pathways in an effort to build our future healthcare workforce. Healthcare focuses can include, but are not limited to: Dental, Patient Care, Pharmacy, Medical Assisting and General Health Science Pathway. The day will include a tour of UH College of Nursing, industry exhibits and a speaker panel. Health & Wellness Day sponsors to date are: Student Bus Sponsor – The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Lunch Sponsors – Cryer Physical Therapy and Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. Exhibitors to date include: Focus Weight Loss, Care Plus ER and Nicole Ponce Counseling, LLC.
